Facelift For Iconic Wildwood Boardwalk Facing Issues: News 12
A report by NJ News 12 says that supply chain issues are causing problems with the renovation of the Wildwood Boardwalk.

WILDWOOD, NJ — The iconic Wildwood Boardwalk is undergoing renovations before summer. But supply chain issues are causing problems, according to a report by New Jersey News 12.
It's an important renovation, News 12 reported. "A year and a half ago, we had out of nowhere some kind of big windstorm come up and rip up a whole block of boardwalk down by the convention center,” Mayor Pete Byron told the news channel. “It did two things – one we were lucky it didn’t happen during the summer. That could’ve been catastrophic. And two – it really brought the attention of the governor to say how bad our boardwalk was."
After that storm, the state sent $4 million to Wildwood for the boardwalk, according to the report. The money is covering most of Phase 1 of the renovation, which stretches from Oak to Maple avenues.

Supply chain issues and delays meant that things needed to be changed to be completed on time, the channel reported. For example, News 12 said that the wood originally planned for the boardwalk had to be switched to pine so the first phase could be completed on time. The second phase, News 12 said, will be in the fall for the boardwalk down to 26th Street. The priority, Byron told the news channel, was getting the first phase completed before the summer.
