Field Hockey Team Remains Unbeaten, Boys Soccer Team Pitches Shutout: The Week in Ocean City High School Sports

The Ocean City High School field hockey team remains undefeated, but surrendered its first goal of the season this week. The boys soccer team ended last week with a shutout, but was shut out twice this week, and the girls soccer team was involved in a couple of close games this week.

Field Hockey

Ocean City 12, Absegami 0, Sept. 18: Jordan Allegretto, Rialee Allen, Maria Farnan, Nicholl Fenton and Shannon O’Reilly each scored twice to lead the Red Raiders. Claire Blumberg and Alexis Paone each scored in the win.

Ocean City 7, Rancocas Valley 1, Sept. 19: Rialee Allen scored two goals and picked up an assist to lead Ocean City to the victory. Jordan Allegretto, Kate Blumberg, Nicholl Fenton, Julia Herrington and Megan Keenan all scored in the win. Goalie Charity Beckert made three saves. Ocean City finally allowed a goal for the first time this season when Nora Strittmatter found the back of the cage.

Ocean City 11, Atlantic City 0, Sept. 21: Grace Steele led the way with four goals in the win. Rialee Allen had three goals, Jordan Allegretto had two and Maria Farnan and Nicholl Fenton each scored a goal in the win. Goalie Charity Beckert made three saves.

Boys Soccer

Ocean City 1, Mainland 0, Sept. 18: Jimmy Flukey scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the first half. Aaron King provided the assist. Goalie Russell Lindsay made six saves in the win.

Kingsway 1, Ocean City 0, Sept. 19: Austin Ogren scored the game-winner for Kingsway. Russell Lindsay made four saves in the loss.

Williamstown 2, Ocean City 0, Sept. 23: Justin Curlin scored both goals for Williamstown. Goalie Russell Lindsay made three saves in the loss.

Girls Soccer

Mainland 4, Ocean City 2, Sept. 18: Tori Rolls scored twice for Ocean City, but it wasn’t enough. Goalie Brooke Segich made 13 saves in the loss.

Williamstown 6, Ocean City 1, Sept. 19: Tori Rolls scored the lone goal for the Red Raiders. Goalie Brooke Segich made 11 stops in the loss.

Holy Spirit 2, Ocean City 1, Sept. 21: Tori Rolls found the back of the net for the Red Raiders, with an assist from Sam Bornhardt. Goalie Brooke Segich made six saves for Ocean City.

Millville 3, Ocean City 1, Sept. 23: Tori Rolls scored the only goal of the game for the Red Raiders.
