VIDEO: Fire Strikes Homes In Sea Isle City, 2 Injured, 1 Missing

An elderly woman is missing after a fire struck a home in Sea Isle City on Thursday, authorities said.

SEA ISLE CITY, NJ - An elderly woman is missing after a fire struck consumed three duplexes and two vehicles in Sea Isle City Thursday afternoon, authorities said. Two other people are being treated at a local hospital following the fire.

The fire was reported at 29 54th Street Thursday morning, and it quickly escalated to a multi-alarm fire, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office. Two people were hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation, the prosecutor's office said late Thursday afternoon.

The two people who were injured and the missing elderly woman are all related. The investigation into the fire continued just before 5 p.m., and Sea Isle City police are asking the public to avoid the area.

Detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, the Sea Isle City Police Department and members of the Cape May County Fire Marshall's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.

NBC has posted photos and video from the scene, which depicts smoke coming out of the roofs. One of the homes appears to have been completely destroyed.

The Ocean City Fire Department sent one engine and one quint with a total of seven firefighters to help fight the blaze, according to The Press of Atlantic City. Strathmere, Avalon and Seaville also sent fire crews to the scene. The home belongs to year-round residents Christopher Corso and Joseph Corso Jr.

A construction worker pulled a woman out of one of the houses, according to the Sea Isle News.

The three buildings impacted by the fire were each duplexes, meaning a total of six homes were impacted, according to 6 ABC.
