Fire Tears Through Ocean City Home: Officials

The home's second story was damaged but firefighters managed to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring houses.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — An Ocean City home was damaged in a fire Monday afternoon, according to officials.

It was shortly before 5 p.m. on April 15 when firefighters arrived at the home on the 1400 block of Simpson Avenue, according to an Ocean City Firefighters Association social media post.

Photos shared by Ocean City firefighters show flames shooting out of the home's second story.

Three people inside the home were displaced but uninjured, according to OCNJ Daily. One firefighter suffered a minor injury, the outlet reported.

Firefighters said the blaze was under control by 5:26 p.m., preventing the flames from spreading to neighboring homes.

The Ocean City Fire Department was joined by Margate City Fire Department and Marmora Volunteer Fire Company for mutual aid.
