First-Ever Pride Festival Comes To Ocean City

We Belong Cape May County is hosting Ocean City's first pride festival this June. Here's what's in store:

OCEAN CITY, NJ β€” This pride month, enjoy Ocean City's first-ever Pride Festival, hosted by local non-profit We Belong Cape May County.

The festivities kick off on June 10 at 9 a.m., with beloved local weather expert Nor'Easter Nick as guest speaker at the opening ceremony and Pride Walk starting at 6th Street and Boardwalk.

Then, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., enjoy family fun, community organization resource tables, yoga and live music at the 6th Street Practice Field next to Ocean City High School.

Family fun includes face painting and glitter tattoos provided by Let's Party Events, caricatures by artist Megan Smith, recycled jewelry by Steadyroots Homestead and Liz Tran Art and Creations, tinsel hair accents by Elizabeth Eve Salon, photography by Katelin Keane, balloon animals with Lucky Duck Entertainment and more.

More than 20 community organizations will be represented at OC Pride Fest, including NJ Division of Civil Rights, CMC Prosecutor's Office, Gables, ACQA (Atlantic County Queer Alliance), Queer Headed, OCHS Prism Club, CARA, GLSEN, Ocean City Theater Company, Cape Assist, Free Mom Hugs and others.

Live music is provided by local musicians Tryptophan at 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., mΓ©abh stanford at 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Mary Devlin at 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Bring your own beach chair or blanket.

Kain Rossi from Bee Mindful Yoga and Mediation will host two gentle yoga sessions at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Bring your own mat or towel.

The fun doesn't stop at 1 p.m. - adults can head over to Oar House Pub in Sea Isle City at 3 p.m. through the evening for free entry, drink and snack spread if you wear your OC Pride Fest bracelet.

All activities are provided by We Belong CMC volunteers and sponsors.
