Flooding Likely at High Tide in Ocean City; Schools Closed on Tuesday
The Winter Storm Warning and Coastal Flood Warning remain in effect through Tuesday.

Ocean City officials are reminding residents to move their vehicles from areas that typically experience tidal flooding before the high tide scheduled for 1:29 a.m. Tuesday morning.
“Flooding is likely to occur prior to the time of high tide and may last for several hours after high tide,” officials said in a statement issued Monday afternoon. “Many roadways in Ocean City will be impassable during this flooding. Please do not drive around barricades.”
A Winter Storm Warning and a Coastal Flood Warning are in effect for Ocean City through Tuesday morning. The storm is expected to bring 12-16 inches of snow with winds between 10 and 20 mph and wind gusts of 35 mph. Temperatures are expected to be in the 20s.

Visibility is expected to be one quarter mile or less at times.
Ocean City Schools will be closed on Tuesday, and municipal court sessions scheduled for Tuesday evening have been canceled.

Snow and heavy winds will create hazardous driving conditions. Minor to moderate tidal flooding is also expected with this storm.
Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution, or to avoid driving all together until road conditions improve.
As of 4:05 p.m., the speed limit on the New Jersey Turnpike was reduced to 45 mph between Southern Terminus/CR 109 in Cape May and North of Exit 139A/Stuyvesant Avenue in Union Township.
