Food Cupboard Offers Free Delivery To Homebound OC Residents
Food Cupboard clients who are homebound can receive monthly free grocery delivery.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Residents in need are able to receive free groceries from the Ocean City Food Cupboard, which is operated by the Ocean City Ecumenical Council. Upon completing the registration at the Ocean City Social Service Office and becoming qualified, clients are eligible to receive free bags of groceries on a monthly basis, the council said.
The Food Cupboard is located in the alley behind St. Peter's United Methodist Church, and it is open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Some clients who use the Food Cupboard have become homebound, either due to illness or age, and are no longer able to go to the site to pick up their monthly allotment of food.
Volunteers recognized this, and developed a plan to create a delivery system to address the needs of the homebound, the council said. Volunteers prepare the bags for clients with donated and purchased food items. There is always a need for volunteers to donate their time for this new home delivery service. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Regina Ralston at 609-399-9013.
