Former Ocean City Nor'Easters Singer To Perform At Phillies Game

OCEAN CITY, N.J. — You could say Olivia Currier spent last year in Ocean City warming up her vocal chords for this moment. Currier was 13 when she sang the national anthem before every Nor'easters home game last year. She will sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" before Saturday's Phillies game, the Nor'Easters announced.

Currier has performed the anthem for several teams in the NFL (Eagles), NBA (76ers, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic), NHL (Carolina Hurricanes), MLB (Pittsburgh Pirates) and MLS (Union).

The Longport native made her national-anthem debut when she was 9 at a Villanova women's basketball game. She has taken singing and acting classes at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, according to the Nor'Easters.

“I feel exhilarated to be singing in front of thousands of fans at such a young age," Currier said. "I am humbled to have such unbelievable opportunities. I know this will benefit me as I pursue my dream career in musical theater.”

The Phillies host the Braves at 4:05 p.m. Saturday.
