Four Pursuing Three Ocean City School Board Seats in November

Board President Joe Clark and Board Member Cecilia Gallelli-Keyes will be joined by Dale Braun and Michael Allan James in the race.

School Board President Joseph Clark and School Board Member Cecilia Gallelli-Keyes are among the four candidates who filed petitions to run for three open Board of Education seats in November’s election, according to the Cape May County Clerk’s Office.

Dale F. Braun Jr. and Michael Allan James will challenge the incumbents for seats on the board in the fall.

Incumbent Tiffany Prettyman elected not to run for re-election.

Clark, the purchasing manager for the City of Ocean City, was appointed to his current position as president in January, when former President Brenda Moiso decided not to run for re-election. He is seeking his third term.

Gallelli-Keyes was appointed by the board to take over for the remainder of Greg Donahue’s term in December.

Braun previously ran for school board in the 2013 special election for Donahue’s seat, won by Jon Batastini, who chose to join the board for a three-year term and allow the board to nominate Gallelli-Keyes for the remainder of the one-year term.

According to the Ocean City Gazette, Braun also interviewed for the seat left vacant by Peter Madden last week, a seat that went to Gregory Whelan.

The election is Nov. 4.
