Free Rabies Clinic Set For Jan. 27 In Ocean City

Vaccinations will take place at the fire department, 550 Asbury Avenue in Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — If your pet will need an updated rabies shot before renewing its license, mark Jan. 27 on your calendar.

A state-sponsored free rabies clinic will take place in Ocean City on Saturday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m.-noon. Vaccinations take place at the Ocean City Fire Department at 550 Asbury Avenue.

All dog licenses expire on Jan. 31 of each year and must be renewed by then. To receive a dog license, the pet owner must first supply a rabies vaccination certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian indicating that the animals during of immunity extends throughout at least the first 10 months of the 12-month licensing period.

The fees for licensing a dog are $7 for a dog that has been neutered or spayed or $10 for dogs that have not been neutered or spayed. A late fee will occur after March 31 for a fee of an additional $4.
