Headliner Change for Broadway on the Boardwalk

The has a new star for the June 27 performance of "Broadway on the Boardwalk." Xanadu star Mary Testa has left her spot with the company due to a scheduling conflict.

Annie Golden will now headline the performance. Golden is a Tony-nominated actress with roles in "Hair," "Leader of the Pack," "Assassins," "Xanadu" and more. The 60-year-old actress will visit Ocean City to perform with the casts of the past five "Broadway on the Boardwalk" performances.

“I get to sing ‘Unworthy of Your Love’ with Annie," said Billy Hart, another cast member. "The song was written for her, and it’s a beautiful love duet. It’s intimidating to be paired with a Broadway performer, but to be singing with someone the song was made for is amazing. I look forward to absorbing as much as I can from her energy and enthusiasm.”

This year, "Broadway on the Boardwalk" will showcase the past five years of the show, using many of the original actors.

“Annie is super excited and eager to get here. She sings the title song in 'Leader of the Pack' and asked for three of our junior company students to act with her. It is great to see her excited to work with the kids.”
