Hermit Crab Contests, Little Miss Ocean City: Monday Manual

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Welcome to the Aug. 15 edition of Monday Manual, highlighting important and fun events going on this week in Ocean City.

Aug. 15

Enjoy A Girl Named Tom at 7 p.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier.

Aug. 16

Enjoy family fun at Asbury Avenue with Funtastic Tuesdays. Entertainment, face painting and balloon sculptors are available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It's Mummers Night on the Boardwalk, so get ready to strut 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. from 6th Street to 14th Street.

Aug. 17

The weekly Farmers Market is held at Tabernacle Grounds from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crafters are in the street at 6th and Asbury Avenue.

In this week's Wacky Wednesday, participants will design their prince or princess crown with Miss Ocean City, Junior Miss Ocean City and Little Miss Ocean City, from 10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Music Pier.

The Miss Crustacean Hermit Crab Beauty Pageant returns with registration at 5:30 p.m. and the contest at 6 p.m. at the 6th St. Beach. The winner receives the coveted Cucumber Rind Cup.

Then, enjoy the Hermit Crab Races immediately after at 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 18

Enjoy Market Days on Asbury Avenue with fun from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then the family can have fun at Family Nights with entertainment on the Boardwalk from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. between 6th Street and 14th Street.

Aug. 19

Join the Ocean City Fishing Club for the OCFC Boys & Girls Fishing Tournament at the North-End Beach by the Longport Bridge. This event starts at 9 a.m. and is free for children ages 8 to 16. Participants must bring their own bait and fishing equipment.

The Little Miss Ocean City 2023 competition will be held at 7 p.m. at the Music Pier.

Aug. 20

The Junior Miss Ocean City 2023 competition will be held at 7 p.m. at the Music Pier.
