How Did Ocean City High School's Wrestlers Fare in the Region 8 Tournament?
The tournament was this week at Egg Harbor Township.

The Ocean City High School wrestling team’s season came to an end when three wrestlers qualified for the Region 8 tournament at Egg Harbor Township this week, according to nj.com.
Two of those wrestlers pulled off upsets before eventually falling in their respective weight classes.
Jeremiah Johnson entered the 152-pound tournament as a No. 12 seed in the 12-wrestler field, and upset No. 5 seed Blaine Shade, of Timber Creek, 4-3, on an ultimate tiebreaker in the pre-quarterfinals.

He fell to No. 4 Keshawn Branham, of Winslow, 7-2, in the quarterfinals.
He then lost to Vineland’s Yusuf Yilmaz, 18-5, in the wrestleback quarterfinals.

Johnson was the runner-up in the District 32 tournament, falling to St. Augustine’s Colin Donahue, 4-2, in the final.
He finished the season with a record of 18-9.
David Levin also pulled off an upset, at 126. He entered the tournament as the No. 9 seed, and upset No. 8 Tim Sparks, of Gateway, 3-2, in the pre-quarterfinals.
He fell to No. 1 Quinn Kenner, of Kingsway, 11-0, in the quarterfinals. Kenner went on to win the regional title.
He then lost to West Deptford’s Dylan Fischer, 5-3, in the wrestleback quarterfinals.
Levin advanced to the regional tournament by finishing second in the District 32 tournament. He made it to the final before being pinned by St. Augustine’s Steven Schwab in two minutes, 39 seconds.
He finished the season with a record of 27-8.
Will Nickerson was seeded 10th 160. He fell to No. 7 Daniel Figueroa, of Hammonton, 4-0, in the pre-quarterfinals.
Nickerson finished second in the District 32 tournament, falling by major decision by St. Augustine’s Nick Clark in the final.
He finished the season with a record of 21-11.
