Location Of Inaugural Chili Chowder Festival In Ocean City Moved [UPDATED]

Ocean City, NJ -- A new tradition begins in Ocean City this weekend.

The Ocean City Restaurant Association presents the inaugural Chili Chowder Festival on Sunday, Oct. 2, noon-4 p.m.

On Thursday, the location of the festival was changed from the Tennessee Avenue Soccer Complex on Ocean City’s bayside to the covered loggia of the Ocean City Music Pier (on the Ocean City Boardwalk between Eighth Street and Ninth Street) due to the threat of inclement weather in the weekend forecast.

Festival goers will be able to taste either chili or chowder from every restaurant that participates.
The festival will be a kid-friendly event welcoming to the whole family.

The Humane Society of Ocean City will be on site with some cute pets available for adoption.

Free parking is available at the festival site. It is sponsored by Ocean City Magazine.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society.

Wristbands will be available at the Humane Society, Frankie’s on the Bay and the 14th and Asbury Johnny B. Goode Ice Cream Parlor location. They can also be purchased at www.eatinocnj.com or the chowder festival event website.
