Intermediate School Collects Food During 'Souper Bowl' Week
The charity event collected 1,209 cans and boxes of food.
The Ocean City Intermediate School Student Council collected 1,209 cans and boxes of food for the poor during a week-long event called the "Souper Bowl."
Students who brought in five or more items during five days of collection that started Jan. 23 were permitted to wear hats on the Friday before the Super Bowl. The classroom that brought in the most cans and boxes of food received a breakfast from Principal Geoffrey Haines.
Students kept track of their progress on a large football field they painted and hung in the hallway.
