Invitational Themed Show Kicks Off Summer At Ocean City Arts Center

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Kick off summer at the Ocean City Arts Center with its Annual Invitational Themed Show. This year’s theme is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

The show opens June 1 and runs through June 28. A Meet the Artists’ reception will be held on Friday, June 9 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The invited artists were truly inspired by the theme and rose to the challenge creating exciting and beautiful work, according to the Arts Center.

Among the participating artists are Patti Speed, Jill Snyder, Marion Lotka, Annette Maynard, Gloria Moyer, Carla Migliaccio, Rae Jaffe, Carol Zerbe, Lolly Grilli, Tim Faherty, Susan Irland, Mary Beth Alvare, Allison Southard, Barbara Rosin and Ellen Gavin.

Artists are encouraged to be creative with the announced theme, and possibly even stretch outside of their comfort zone.

Very few establishments have the iconic pull that Tiffany & Co. does. Known for its elegance and style, the store has been the purveyor of fine jewelry in gold, silver, and precious stones for nearly 200 years.

From its iconic little blue boxes to the unparalleled location of the flagship store at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan, Tiffany’s attracts not only crowds of shoppers but also those who, like the free-spirited Holly Golightly in Truman Capote’s famous 1958 novella, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” find the hushed elegance of the store a respite from life’s cares and worries.

The Ocean City Arts Center is located on the second floor in the Community Center at 1735 Simpson Avenue. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Arts Center is closed on Sunday. For further information, call (609) 399-7628.
