Jersey Shore Boardwalk Named Best In America
National travel site Fodor's Travel said that this Jersey Shore boardwalk, said to be the first in the world, is the best in the country.
JERSEY SHORE, NJ — New Jersey's beaches and boardwalks are some of its finest and most famous features. And one boardwalk in particular was chosen by a national travel site as America's best.
Fodor's Travel said that the Atlantic City boardwalk is number one in the United States. This world-famous boardwalk dates back to 1870 and is said to be the world's first and its longest.
Atlantic City is known for its casinos, and the travel site notes that the boardwalk is "an international entertainment hub."

Fodor's Travel suggests visiting the adjacent Steel Pier or Garden Pier, or checking out the arcade games at the Central Pier Arcade and Speedway.
The Atlantic City boardwalk beat out other famous boardwalks on the list, including Chicago's Navy Pier, Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach Boardwalk in California and Ocean City, Maryland.
