Jersey Shore Restaurant Closes After 46-Year Run

The popular Mexican bar and restaurant cited soaring costs and staffing issues as reasons for closing its doors.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - A popular Mexican restaurant at the shore announced that it will be closed “until further notice,” citing soaring costs and staffing issues.

Los Amigos Restaurant and Bar, located at 1926 Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, announced the closure on June 8. The Tex-Mex staple, which has been at the Jersey Shore since 1978, first opened its doors in 1976 in West Berlin.

“We are sorry to say Los Amigos will be closing its doors until further notice due to the poor labor market, exorbitant food costs, and fuel and energy costs,” the restaurant wrote on Facebook. “We would like to thank all our customers & past employees that have supported us since we opened in 1979. We wish you all the best.”
