This Jersey Shore Town Has The Best Beach On The East Coast, Report Says

OCEAN CITY, NJ — New Jersey beaches are great. And one of them is the absolute best on the entire East Coast, according to Beachfix, a website dedicated to all things beach-related.

It's tough to beat out places like Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island, but this beach did just that. Have you guessed it yet? Beachfix chose Ocean City as the number one best beach on the East Coast. It's also the only NJ town to make it on the list of 15.

Ocean City was selected for being "America's greatest family resort," as the town's motto says. Beachfix said that it is a great year-round vacation spot, with its many guarded beaches for swimming. But the site also mentions how vacationers can enjoy surfing, fishing and sunbathing.

It also cites Ocean City's great boardwalk attractions, like Gillian's Wonderland Pier and Playland's Castaway Cove.

Beachfix recommends staying at some of Ocean City's most iconic spots, including Flanders Hotel, Ocean City Mansion and Biscayne Suites. The site suggests visiting in June through August for warmest weather in peak season, but also says May and September offer nice weather and fewer crowds.
