John Oates Concert Oct. 1 at Music Pier Benefits Ocean City Students

Proceeds benefit the Ocean City Education Foundation.

John Oates kicks off his fall tour on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Ocean City Music Pier.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Ocean City Education Foundation, a citizen group that raises money to provide additional educational opportunities for Ocean City School District students and the community. Ocean City Home Bank is the presenting sponsor of the event.

Tickets are $35 for the 8 p.m show with the John Oates Band. Tickets will not be available at the door. To reserve seats:

John Oates is best known as half of the rock-and-roll duo Hall and Oates (with founder/lead vocalist/occassional instrumentalist Daryl Hall). As a member of Hall and Oates, John Oates co-wrote eight Billboard No. 1 songs such as "Sara Smile", "You Make My Dreams", "She's Gone", "Maneater", "Out of Touch", "Adult Education" and "I Can't Go For That."

In addition to his success with Hall and Oates, John Oates has had a successful career as both a producer and solo artist. Oates has released several albums during his career, and his most recent solo album, Mississippi Mile, was released this year.
