Latest Ocean City Coronavirus Updates

Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — There's a lot of news to keep up with right now — locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Ocean City and Cape May County.

Cases

The Cape May County Health Department has reported 145 positive cases, including seven deaths and 15 people cleared off quarantine as of Saturday. Ocean City has 10 active cases and two people cleared off quarantine.

The CMCHD reported three deaths Saturday from the past two days. Two were residents of Victoria Manor, a North Cape May nursing home — an 80-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman. Five Victoria Manor residents have died from the virus as of Saturday.

Officials also reported Saturday that a 73-year-old Dennis Township man died from the coronavirus.

Testing

Cape Regional Urgent Care will now test anyone for the coronavirus, including people without symptoms. They have locations in Marmora, Wildwood and Cape May Court House. MORE.

Restrictions and Updates

  • The Township T-Shirt Company can deliver cloth masks to customers in Ocean City through 5 p.m. Saturday. The CDC also offers instructions on how to make your own cloth face mask. MORE.
  • The U.S. blood supply is facing a unique and unprecedented shortage in the wake of the ongoing new coronavirus pandemic. Donations from healthy people in Ocean City and other communities are needed now more than ever to avoid another health care crisis, according to two of the nation's leading blood banks. MORE.
  • All Wawa stores in New Jersey will designate an hour each day for shoppers at high risk of the new coronavirus. Wawa asked that all other customers avoid the store from 2-3 p.m. each day while high-risk individuals shop. MORE.
