Least Amount Of Restaurant Chains Found In Ocean City: Report
The Washington Post reported where the most chain restaurants are found - and turns out, Ocean City has the least.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Restaurant chains - they're everywhere. Love them or hate them, you're sure to see a McDonald's or an Applebee's pretty much everywhere you go.
Except for in Ocean City, that is.
The Washington Post recently released a report using data to find the areas with the most chains in the country. But read through the article and you'll find something interesting. Apparently, Ocean City tops the list of the least chain-filled metros in the United States.

Most of the areas without many chains are tourist hubs, according to the Washington Post. It cites other similar areas like Maui and Cape Cod.
According to the data, only 7.9 percent of restaurants in the metro area are chains. Nearby, the Atlantic City-Hammonton area also has a small share of chains, with only 16 percent.

It makes sense that a place like Ocean City would not have many chains. It's dominated by small, locally-owned businesses, some of which have been in Ocean City for generations. And why grab a burger from McDonald's when you can support something local?
