Schoedler now has two indoor titles under his belt—and a lot more running to do as a Red Raider.

  • Accomplishment: Schoedler won individual state titles in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, leading the Ocean City Raiders to a title at the Group III indoor state championships on Saturday.

  • Schoedler said earning his first state titles felt “great” after many years of hard work. After all, he started running competitively only in eighth grade and had not achieved that goal until Saturday—with times of 4:16.57 in the 1,600-meter and 1:57.90 in the 800.

It's been a banner month for Miles: On Feb. 2 he signed a letter of intent to run at Georgetown University. Before he becomes a Hoya, though, Miles said he has several goals to meet as a Red Raider.

This weekend, he heads to Seattle to compete in the Brooks PR Invitational, an indoor track meet for the fastest high school runners in the U.S. Then it's on to nationals in New York for a distance relay and mile race.

“I still have three big races left for indoor,” Miles said. The spring season holds a lot of expectations for Miles, too, including shattering a couple of school records—and hopefully establishing Ocean City High School as having produced the most sub-four-minute-milers in the nation. “I still have a lot more excitement to come,” Miles said.
