Miss Artisan Pageant in Ocean City Saturday Night

The Artisans of Philadelphia makes its 70th annual trip to Ocean City this weekend.

The Artisans will hold its Miss Artisan Pageant at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, on Saturday at 8 p.m.

At this event, a young lady is selected to represent the group for the upcoming year.

Professional entertainment is featured in the program. The public is invited, and admission is free.

The Artisans have been in business for over 100 years, Ocean City Public Relations Director Mark Soifer said this week.

It is a “Family Fraternal Benefit Society” whose mission is to provide affordable insurance coverage to working people.

The organization is also known for supporting charitable organizations in the Delaware Valley.

“Over the years, the Artisans have been generous supporters of the Ocean City Ecumenical Food Cupboard and City events including the Mr. Mature America Pageant and our annual Tribute to the Philippines,” Soifer said in a release.

During the event, Most Excellent Master Artisan Theresa A. Ludwig, the Society’s Chief Executive Officer, will receive a “Key to the City,” Soifer said.
