Miss New Jersey Pageant Comes to Ocean City This Week

“One Funny Mother” Dana Blizzard will emcee this year’s Miss New Jersey Pageant in Ocean City, Ocean City Public Relations Director Mark Soifer said this week.

Blizzard, who is an emcee at the Miss America Pageant, a frequent guest at New Jersey 101.5 radio and a rising star as a professional comedian, is currently touring with her show “One Funny Mother,”which has become a huge hit in theaters throughout the East Coast.

A former Miss New Jersey, Dena sits on stage, folds laundry and describes her “adventures in motherhood.”

Miss New Jersey preliminaries will be held June 11 and 12, with the finals and crowning set for Saturday, June 13.

Devon Vanderslice and Dana Piccoli, two former Miss Ocean City winners, will compete for the title.

Festivities begin Wednesday night with the Miss Ocean City Parade from 6th to 14th on the Boardwalk. Miss New Jersey Cierra Kaler-Jones will lead the parade, which begins at 7 p.m.

The theme is “Pages through the Ages.”
