In light of the recent events, the police department will increase the number of officers on patrol for the near future, police said.
Authorities are also asking for the publics help in identifying the young adults/juveniles involved.
"Parents need to speak with their children and explain that what they are doing is harmful to each other not to mention destructive to the neighborhoods," according to a statement from Police Chief Vernon Marino on the department's Facebook page.
The department also noted that some videos of the incidents have been made "that continue to stereotype a town and its residents."
"It is simply irresponsible to post these incidents; doing so only helps to drive copycats wanting their 3 seconds of air time while eroding the core values of this town and it's hard working, law bidding citizens," Marino said.
"Our stakeholders (residents, council, churches, schools, businesses) have a strong, respectful relationship with this police department and we will continue that partnership as we combat crime and those set out to do harm to our police officers and this town."
