The most exciting pick is actually considered a "dry town," meaning that alcohol is essentially not for sale there. The other, the most boring, is a South Jersey community that has a bit of a 50s motif along its main road.
And, yes, they sell alcohol there.

Business Insider said it based its report on data derived from the number of establishments for 66 different types of businesses — like breweries, art dealers, and museums — that can make a city more "interesting." The publication sourced data from the Census Bureau's 2015 County Business Patterns program and picked the metro areas with the highest and lowest count of these businesses for its interesting and boring cities.
Ocean City has an old-fashioned motif: For what it lacks in bars it has in family entertainment. For many years, it was one of the only boardwalks to have a movie theater. And many of the amusement rides were throwbacks to the 1950s and 1960s.
Ocean City has long banned selling alcohol in an area founded by four Methodist ministers. But finding a place to drink is hardly a problem if you know where to look, according to The Press of Atlantic City. Private dining clubs are popping up.
“It used to be unique, but now there’s several places to go in Ocean City,” Terry Grau, the Riverboat Club’s longest active member and appointed bartender, told The Press of Atlantic City.
The members-only dining clubs are a workaround to providing dinners with bring-your-own-bottle service, according to the publication. Members pay a nominal annual fee to be invited to private dining events where there is alcohol, and these entities must adhere to strict guidelines to stay within the law.
Vineland, on the other hand, was established as a temperance town, where the sale of alcohol was prohibited. Lately, it's been better known for the Delsea Drive-In movie theater. TripAdvisor cites an Applebee's and another movie theater as attractions.
