Mummers Band, Fireworks Highlight Fall Block Party In Ocean City This Weekend
The Block Party is Saturday, Oct. 7, and Indian Summer Weekend is Oct. 7-9.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — More than 400 crafters, food vendors and entertainers will highlight Ocean City’s fall block party this weekend. The annual autumn event along a mile of downtown Asbury Avenue between Fifth Street and 14th Street helps draw tens of thousands of people to Ocean City for Columbus Day Weekend. It takes place on Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vendors including Asbury Avenue restaurants that will offer food of every variety. A fireworks display over the ocean caps the festivities at 9 p.m.
This year’s entertainment will include the Pennsport String Band, a Mummers band. They will perform at 12th Street, one of a number of entertainers and bands that will perform along Asbury Avenue between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. At the same time, there will be pony rides for children on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle, at Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue.

Street parking will be free at all metered spots in Ocean City, and additional free parking will be available at the Transportation Center lot, Ninth Street and Haven Avenue, and at the municipal lots on the 700 and 800 blocks of Central Avenue.
The Indian Summer Weekend begins the same day, on Saturday, Oct. 7, and runs through Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 9. The celebration includes seafood vendors at the Ocean City Music Pier and local merchant table sales between Sixth Street and 14th Street on the boardwalk and on Asbury Avenue.
