Neighboring Jersey Shore Towns Make List Of Most Expensive In 2022
The median sale price in 2022 for one of these Cape May County zip codes was $2 million. They're two of the most expensive places in NJ.

JERSEY SHORE — Two neighboring beach towns in Cape May County are some of the most expensive zip codes in all of New Jersey.
According to real estate website PropertyShark, these two municipalities are not just some of the wealthiest in the state - one is one of the most expensive in the entire country.
Avalon and Stone Harbor, which make up the shore's Seven Mile Island, are ranked at numbers 3 and 5, respectively, for NJ's most expensive zip codes, per PropertyShark.

A home in either of these two places will set you back quite a bit. Stone Harbor's median sale price in 2022 was $1.777 million, while Avalon's was a cool $2 million. That's a lot of slices of boardwalk pizza.
Avalon debuted in the 2021 national ranking by PropertyShark and has since moved up 10 spaces with a 20 percent increase in the median sale price. It now ranks 82 out of the top 100 most expensive zip codes, tying with several other zip codes in California and New York.

The most expensive zip code in New Jersey is Deal, a Monmouth County shore town, with a median sale price of $2.3 million this past year, according to PropertyShark.
And the most expensive zip in the entire country? PropertyShark says it's Atherton; a small, exclusive town in California's Silicon Valley. Its median sale price in 2022 was $7.9 million - $2.15 million higher than the next town.
