The NJSP requires all boaters to take a boat safety course and the proctored exam. Boat Safe US offers classroom instruction which includes the exam. If you take the online course, you can join Boat Safe US for the proctored exam.

To take an in-person instructional class and exam, check out our website at www.boatsafeus.com for our schedule. We will provide you with a fun-filled, multi-media, educational look at Boat Safety in New Jersey. The Instructors at Boat Safe US, LLC are certified and approved to instruct by the NJ State Police Marine Division and are NASBLA certified as well. The biggest advantage of an in-person class is being able to ask questions and get the answers your need. You’ll walk away with a manual and your temporary boat safety certificate, so you’ll be legal to operate a vessel when you leave the class.

There are several online courses out there, but the New Jersey State Police have only approved three providers: Ace Boater, BoaterExam, and Boat-Ed. With the online course, you will have access to a full course manual on your computer, pad or smartphone. The course will roughly 6-7 hours, but you will be able to progress at your own pace; logging in and out when you can, as many times as you need to. Once you complete the course, you will be able to print your online course completion certificate. This will be your proof of passing the course for your proctored exam, as well as your NASBLA card. See our website at www.boatsafeus.com for our proctored exam schedule, we will provide a final review video to further help you pass the final exam!

Most states require anyone with a powerboat or personal watercraft to complete an approved boater safety course. Boat Safe US, Ace Boater, BoaterExam and Boat-Ed are all NASBLA-approved (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators), which means if you take the boat safety course, whether with Boat Safe US, or online, you will be able to use your NJ boat safety certificate in other states.

Whether you take the boat safety course in-person or on-line, Boat Safe US is here to help you achieve your goal of getting out on the water! Our upcoming schedule is below, or see our website for our full schedule.
