Nominations Open For Cape May County 'Women Of Wonder Award'

Each year, the Atlantic Cape Foundation and the Women's Commission honor influential Cape May County women with the "Women of Wonder Award."

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — Nominations are now open for this years "Women of Wonder Award," honoring powerful and influential women throughout Cape May County.

This year's Women of Wonder Awards Luncheon, presented by the Cape May County Women's Commission and the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 3 at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City.

The annual award celebrates women in the county "for their outstanding and selfless dedication to helping others reach their potential," Atlantic Cape Community College said in a release.

Nominees must be women who live in Cape May County, be recognized as outstanding leaders and/or role models in their local communities and have had positive impacts on Cape May County residents.

Previous honorees include Michele Gillian, executive director of the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce; Martina Singleton of the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse; and Noel Hiers, director of School-Based Youth Services at Cape May Technical High School.

Proceeds from the awards fund scholarships for at-risk Cape May County high school students attending Atlantic Cape Community College. The 2021 awards raised more than $17,260 to create an endowed scholarship.
