The Nor’easters play in the USL’s Premier Development League (PDL).

The teams previously held a joint open tryout on March 15.

“Our last tryout was extremely successful,” Nor’easters head coach Tim Oswald said. “We had a number of quality players attend and several were offered the opportunity for an extended trial or a roster spot on our 1st team, as well as our Reserve team.”

“Our first tryout in March was great and allowed us to spot a few players of interest,” Islanders head coach Bill Becher said. “We are hopeful that we can find another player or two on May 10.”

The Nor’easters and the Islanders have formed a mutually beneficial relationship as of late, due to both clubs’ objective of developing young professional talent.

Ken Tribbett of the Ocean City Nor’easters recently signed a contract with the Islanders for the 2015 season, becoming the seventh Ocean City alum to play professionally with Harrisburg club.

“As our relationship with Harrisburg City Islanders has grown, it has really paid dividends for our organization, with the success our first tryout back on March 15 and former Nor’easter, Ken Tribbett playing every minute for the City Islanders this season,” Nor’easters General Manager Kevin Nuss said.

The goal for both teams is to scout players, and those who stand out will be selected to participate in a trial and possibly offered professional contracts.
