Ocean City 2016 Halloween Sex Offender Safety Map

Take a look at this map before your kids go out trick or treating in Ocean City this Halloween.

Ocean City, NJ -- With the Halloween season upon us, it's a good time to take inventory of the safety of your neighborhood.

There are four registered sex offenders living in Ocean City, according to the New Jersey Megan’s Law database. All four are Tier 2, deemed to be “moderate risk” offenders. Last year, there were five offenders listed in Ocean City.

Click on the markers to learn the precise address of the offender. There two offenders at 916 Wesley Avenue, in apartments 8 and 10.

According to statistics from the United States Department of Justice, more than half of rape/sexual assault incidents happen within a mile of the victim’s home.

About 75 percent of victims know their attacker and 45 percent of victims are under 12-years-old.

State Police maintain the registry and updates information regularly, but information can change quickly. Information is often provided by offenders themselves as required by law.

You may want to avoid trick or treating at these houses and apartments on Halloween, or merely be aware of who’s living in your neighborhood.

These offenders are not wanted by police, and using this information to harass, discriminate against, or harm these individuals is against the law.
