Ocean City Announces 2026 Summer Children's Theatre Series

Five family musicals will be staged Tuesday mornings from July 7 through Aug. 4 at the Ocean City Music Pier.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company announced its 2026 Summer Children’s Theatre Series, a five-show lineup of family musicals scheduled for Tuesday mornings at the Ocean City Music Pier.

The series will run from July 7 through August 4, with each performance starting at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $11 in advance and $13 on the day of the performance, according to the announcement. Seats can be reserved at www.oceancitytheatrecompany.com.

The theater company said the 2026 season will include a new themed element tied to each show. According to the announcement, each performance will feature a special activity or dress-up opportunity intended to give children an added experience at the theater.

The series opens July 7 with "Winnie the Pooh: The Musical." The show follows Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and their friends, and the event will include free admission for Winnie the Pooh-themed stuffed animals, according to the announcement.

On July 14, "How I Became A Pirate" will bring a musical adventure about a band of pirates and a young boy, Jeremy Jacob, to the Music Pier. Families are encouraged to attend in princess or pirate attire.

"The Berenstain Bears: The Musical" is scheduled for July 21. The production draws from several books in the Berenstain Bears series, and the event will include free admission for stuffed teddy bears, according to the announcement.

"Junie B. Jones: The Musical" will be staged July 28. The story centers on Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and audience members are invited to bring their own “beeswax journal” to collect autographs after the show.

The series closes Aug. 4 with "Schoolhouse Rock Live! (TYA)," a stage version of the 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series. The announcement said audience members are encouraged to wear their favorite red, white and blue attire.

According to the theater company, the weekly schedule and themed audience participation are designed for family-friendly summer outings in Ocean City. The performances will all be presented at the Ocean City Music Pier, continuing OCTC’s children’s programming at the shore venue during the summer season.
