Ocean City Authors to Speak About Newest Book: 'Legendary Locals'

Fred and Susan Miller will give presentations April 18 at the Ocean City Historical Museum and April 26 at the Ocean City Free Public Library.

From Grace Kelly to Gay Talese, and Ezra Lake to Mark Soifer, a new book documents that wide range of individuals who have helped shape the character of Ocean City.

Ocean City historians Fred and Susan Miller will discuss their newest book, Legendary Locals, in a presentation at the at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18.

The Millers also will discuss Legendary Locals at a at the at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26.

"While famous people such as actress Grace Kelly and author Gay Talese called Ocean City home, most of the people in this book are ordinary citizens who have made major contributions to the community," says Arcadia Publishing, which has produced four other books by the Millers about Ocean City history. "Some trace their roots back to the founders of Ocean City, the Lakes. Others have parents and great grandparents who came to this seaside family resort and community as immigrants."

Some of the Ocean City legends featured in the book will be at the museum on April 18. The 128-page, 180-photograph book will be available at the museum Wednesdday for $21.99. It will also be available locally at , 756 Asbury Ave.
