Ocean City To Award Bid For Music Pier Work

The annual reorganization meeting is Thursday night, 6 p.m. at City Hall.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — About a month after the Friends of the Ocean City Pops donated $151,000 to the city for upgrades at the Music Pier, city council is set to award a contract to begin work. At its annual reorganization meeting Thursday night at City Hall, Ocean City Council is set to award a $151,196 contract to Moorestown-based Starlite Productions International to furnish and install video equipment at the Music Pier.

The reorganization meeting is set for 6 p.m. Thursday night, July 6. Council will also determine who will serve as president and vice president for the coming year.

The Friends of the Ocean City Pops made the donation at the June 8 council meeting. The proposal calls for the installation of a pair of 120-inch screen on either side of the stage. High definition video projectors will be installed in the back, along with two 90-inch screens for people sitting in the back of the auditorium. Two remote controlled video cameras and a handheld camera will capture the action on stage.
