Danny Nunan was drafted in the 12th round of the MLB Draft on Wednesday.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — Danny Nunan heard his name called on Wednesday. The 6’6,” 215-pound Ocean City High School senior was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 12th round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday.
He was the 361st pick of the draft, and was selected by a team that features a famous South Jersey product many believe to be the best player in baseball. The left-handed pitcher committed to the University of Delaware last year.
He threw 36.5 innings this season, striking out 74, walking 21 and allowing eight earned runs, according to nj.com.

The Egg Harbor Township resident played his first season of varsity baseball as a junior, going 4-2 with a 1.42 ERA in eight starts, according to the Ocean City Gazette. He struck out 72, walked 15 and pitched three complete games.
He was the third New Jersey player taken overall in this year’s draft, and second from South Jersey. He joins Millville High School alum Mike Trout, who was drafted by the Angels in 2009 and is now recognized by many as the best player in Major League Baseball.
