Ocean City Bay Ave. Project Update: Sept. 30 To Oct. 4

Bay Avenue will be closed between 34th Street and 24th Street. Here are the detours.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority is replacing and rehabilitating the force mains that carry wastewater to the treatment plant on the bay at 45th Street. The work will be on 31st Street from Haven Avenue to Bay Avenue, along with Bay Avenue from 31st Street to Eighth Street.

Here's what you need to know for Sept. 30 to Oct. 4:

Work continues from 31st Street between Haven Avenue and Bay Avenue and will turn northward on Bay Avenue during the week of Sept. 30. The contractor is expected to progress to the north at a pace of about one block per week.

Traffic: Bay Avenue will be closed between 34th Street and 24th Street. Traffic detours will be established to divert motorists to West Avenue. The map below depicts the northbound and southbound traffic pattern to be followed. Please obey all established traffic patterns. (Only local traffic will be permitted on Bay Avenue.)
