Ocean City Board of Realtors Holding Food Drive

Food-pantry donations tend to go down after the holidays. Here's how you can help.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Food-pantry donations tend to go down after the holidays. The Ocean City Board of Realtors is trying to prevent that.

The board of realtors is holding its annual food drive through Feb. 29 for the local Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard. Donations can be dropped off at the board office at 405 22nd St. Or call the office at 609-399-0128 for pickup service.

The organization will collect nonperishable food, laundry and dish detergent and ShopRite gift cards. Here's a brief list of items the Food Cupboard needs:

  • Microwaveable Items: Hormel meals, rice and cup of soup
  • Canned meats (tuna, corn beef hash, Spam, Dinty Moore stew, etc)
  • Canned vegetables, cans of soup, cans of pork and beans
  • Canned ravioli, SpaghettiOs
  • Cereal and individual packets of dry milk
  • Jelly, peanut butter, juice, Jello/pudding mix, crackers, rice
  • Liquid laundry detergent (48 ounces)
  • Dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper
  • Shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste
  • ShopRite gift cards
