Ocean City Cancels All Special Events Through October
'It would be irresponsible to stage events that attract dense crowds,' Mayor Jay Gillian said as NJ's coronavirus outbreak continues.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The new normal for summer will continue into fall. All of Ocean City's special events through October have been canceled, announced Mayor Jay Gillian.
"It would be irresponsible to stage events that attract dense crowds," Gillian said. "We cannot let our guard down. Please continue to avoid large gatherings and please continue to wear face coverings in all public places."
Ocean City's special events in that timeframe include the Baby Parade, the September air shows, the Corvette show and the Fall Block Party. The city has canceled almost all special events since mid-March, around the time Governor Phil Murphy initially declared a state of emergency for the virus.
