Ocean City Cancels Special Events Through July Amid Coronavirus
Events such as the Antique Auto Show, Music Pier concerts and Wacky Wednesday activities have been canceled.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City has canceled special events through July because of coronavirus concerns. The city made the announcement Friday, days after canceling Fourth of July events and Night in Venice.
Ocean City's calendar of special events in that span includes the Antique Auto Show — originally scheduled for Saturday — along with Wacky Wednesday activities, sand sculpting contests and the Freckle Contest, among others.
“Protecting the health and safety of everybody who loves Ocean City will always be our top priority,” Mayor Jay Gillian said.

The city will make decisions about August's special events on a later date.

The Cape May County Health Department reported Thursday that Ocean City has three active coronavirus cases, 41 people cleared off quarantine and two deaths from the virus.
Cape May County has 110 active cases, while 564 have been cleared off quarantine and 63 people have died from COVID-19 as of Friday afternoon. Longterm-care facilities are linked to 48 active cases, 125 cleared off quarantine and 45 deaths.
