Ocean City Celebrates Halloween With Two Special Events in October

How can you join the fun?

Ocean City has two special events planned for celebrating Halloween this month.

The fourth annual Spooks ‘N’ Kooks Costume Surf Contest and Beach Clean-Up is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, with a no-surf date of Oct. 11.

Registration is 7:30 a.m. at the First Street Beach. Categories include Open Longboard, Open Shortboard, Women’s Sup, and Jr. 13-and-under. Prizes will be awarded.

Corporate sponsorships are available. Sponsors can commemorate a loved one with a personalized flag pin. After the event, they may take the pin flag home as a memorial.

The VFW provides services to local veterans from World War II through the Korea, Desert Storm, and Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns.

The entry fee is five canned goods for the Ocean City Food Cupboard.

Ocean City’s Halloween Parade is set for Thursday, Oct. 29, 7:15 p.m. There is no rain date.

The route is 6th to 11th street on Asbury Avenue.
