Ocean City Concert Series Adds Richard Thompson, Joan Osborne

Ocean City added another performance to its Summer Concert Series. Guitarist and songwriter Richard Thompson and opening act Joan Osborne will put on a June 25 show at Ocean City Music Pier.

Thompson has been a recording artist since 1967, when he made his debut as part of folk rock band Fairport Convention. He received the Orville H. Gibson Award for best acoustic guitar player in 1997, as well as a 2006 lifetime achievement award from BBC Radio.

Osborne is best known for her 1995 hit, "One of Us." Her debut album, Relish, went three times platinum.

Other scheduled Summer Concert Series musicians include the following:

• BUDDY GUY: Monday, June 24, 7 p.m.
• HAPPY TOGETHER 2019: 10-Year Anniversary Tour starring The Turtles, Chuck Negron (formerly of Three Dog Night), Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, The Buckinghams, The Classics IV and The Cowsills. Sunday, June 30, 7 p.m.
• BOZ SCAGGS: Monday, July 1, 7 p.m.
• ALLMAN BETTS BAND: The sons of Allman Brothers Band members Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley perform new music and Allman Brothers Band classics. Monday, July 8, 7 p.m.
• KILLER QUEEN: A Queen tribute. Monday, July 15, 7 p.m.
• LOU GRAMM WITH ASIA: The former Foreigner frontman performs the band’s classic hits. Opening act is Asia featuring John Payne. Monday, Aug. 5, 7 p.m.
