OCEAN CITY, NJ — An Ocean City cop's small act of kindness made waves on social media. Passerby Lisa White-Pagano was walking on Asbury Avenue when she heard someone across the street ask, "Do you need help?"

That's when she saw an Ocean City officer helping a woman cross the intersection of 7th Street and Asbury Avenue.

The officer not only helped her cross but made conversation along the way. White-Pagano decided he deserved some recognition and shared the photo on social media. Her post has more than 900 likes as of Monday morning in the Ocean City NJ 08226 Facebook group.

The Ocean City Police Department saw the Facebook post and identified the officer. "Officer James Crowley...OCPD’s real life Norman Rockwell painting," the OCPD said.

Maybe you've seen Crowley around. But you might also recognize his name from another act of kindness.

Crowley was caught on video helping an elderly woman take her groceries from her car to her second-floor summer home. Several media outlets shared the video.

Kathleen Hargrove, 75, just got home from a grocery trip to Acme, according to Fox 29. Crowley stopped his police SUV in front of the Central Avenue home to help.

"It made me feel good because all you hear is bad about the police," Hargrove told FOX 29.
