OCEAN CITY, NJ β€” There's a lot of news to keep up with right now β€” locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Ocean City and Cape May County.

Cases

The Cape May County Health Department has reported four active coronavirus cases, 39 people cleared off quarantine and two deaths as of Wednesday morning. That includes two active cases in longterm-care facilities.

Officials have reported 131 active cases, 530 people cleared off quarantine and 62 deaths in Cape May County as of Wednesday morning. Longterm-care facilities account for 57 active cases, 114 people cleared off quarantine and 44 deaths.

  • Testing locations for COVID-19 now include Cape Regional Urgent Care in Wildwood, Marmora, and Cape May Court House, Cape Regional Hospital, Complete Care Health Network and CVS in Seaville. Proof of insurance is not needed at the Cape Regional Urgent Care locations.
  • Shore Medical Center now offers tests to determine whether patients have antibodies to the coronavirus. All asymptomatic individuals are eligible for the blood test. MORE.

    Recent Updates

    • Beginning July 2, it's going to look a lot more like summer in Ocean City. That's when Governor Phil Murphy will let amusement and water parks can reopen. MORE.
    • Most of Cape May County's new coronavirus cases in the past week came from young adults socializing without regard for spreading the virus, according to officials. Most of them are short-term visitors from outside the county or New Jersey, according to the Cape May County Health Department. MORE.
    • Ocean City's Fourth of July fireworks and Night in Venice have been canceled, Mayor Jay Gillian said Monday evening. MORE.
    • The Ocean City Free Public Library began offering curbside service Monday. MORE.
