Ocean City Council To Introduce $10,250,000 Bond Ordinance
The proposal covers the city's continuing efforts to fix and improve the island. The meeting is Thursday night.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City Council will consider a proposed bond ordinance on introduction that will help the city continue to make improvements throughout the city. Council will meet on Thursday, June 28, 7 p.m. at City Hall, 861 Asbury Avenue.
The proposed bond ordinance sets aside $10,250,000 and appropriates $9,737,500 in bonds and notes for various upgrades throughout the city. The upgrades are as follows, according to the agenda packet posted on the city’s website:
- $4,100,000 for the construction and reconstruction of various streets and alleys, with an estimated $3,895,000 to be borrowed;
- $1,650,000 for the construction and reconstruction of various stormwater drainage systems, with an estimated $1,567,500 to be borrowed;
- $4 million for lagoon and back bay dredging, including but not limited to permitting, engineering and dredging of the areas as well as the preparation or emptying of one or more confirmed disposal facility sites. The estimated amount to be borrowed is $3,800,000; and
- $500,000 for construction, rehabilitation and repair of public buildings, including but not limited to comfort station renovations, music pier roof repairs, replacement of underground storage tanks, vehicle maintenance utility upgrades and all related items. The estimated amount to be borrowed is $475,000.
Ocean City Council will also consider a proposed ordinance on introduction that amends the portion of city ordinance governing the drive-in business zone. Proposed changes can be found in the agenda packet.
