Parents of crew athletes also spoke of the need for a boathouse, according to the Ocean City Gazette.

The Ocean City High School crew program honored its founder and highlighted the need for a boathouse at its 10-year anniversary barbecue this weekend, the Ocean City Gazette reports.

Former coach Greg Tracy, who founded the program at the school, was presented with a scull with his name engraved in it, according to the report. Many of the parents in the Masters Rowing Program credited Tracy with inspiring their children to compete in the sport.

The program’s equipment is stored under the 34th Street Bridge where it is exposed to the elements, which served as the inspiration for the event’s name “10 Years Under the Bridge,” according to ocnjdaily.com.
