The Red Raiders top Millville and Egg Harbor Township.
The Ocean City High School girls' and boys' cross-country teams took two more steps toward possible conference crowns.
The Red Raiders’ programs each swept Egg Harbor Township and Millville in a tri-meet Sept. 20.
The girls edged host Millville, 26-29, and Egg Harbor Township, 22-35. The boys topped the Eagles, 18-44, and Millville 15-44.

The Red Raiders’ Mary Kate Brelsford finished first with a time of 19 minutes, 26 seconds, and teammate Kelly Williamson came in 29 seconds later to take second overall.
“It was a real nice race, and both girls are great competitors,” Ocean City girls' coach Trish Henry said. “EHT and Millville ran solid races. Mary Kate and Kelly ran really well.”

So did the rest of the Red Raider girls. Kaylie Gallagher (20:13) took fifth, Rachel Stremme (21:18) was 11th overall, and Maddie Brady (21:38) came in 13th to help the Red Raiders get past the Thunderbolts and Eagles.
Despite being 4-0 in the conference, Henry said that the team is not thinking about titles just yet.
“Our motto all along is one day at a time,” she explained. “At practice, we worry about practice, and when it’s time to race, then we worry about that race. The next day we get back to practice, and our goal is to improve each time. Every day we want to improve and give nothing less than our best effort.”
The boys’ effort also has them undefeated at 4-0. Just like the girls, the boys claimed the top two spots, as Kevin Scott finished with a time of 16:20, and D.J. Gilhooley registered a time of 16:43.
Teammates Eddie Kennan (16:57), Joe Delvescio (17:02.2), Dan Murray (17.12) and Louis Paone (17:23) took fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
