Ocean City Down To 2 Active Coronavirus Cases Among Residents

Officials have reported three active cases among non-residents that they linked to Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Cape May County Health Department reported Sunday only two active coronavirus cases among Ocean City residents.

Active cases among Ocean City residents have mostly remained in single digits since the coronavirus spread to the area. But the new figure represents progress in the number of active cases in the community.

None of Ocean City's active cases are linked to longterm-care facilities. Officials have also counted three additional cases among non-residents associated with Ocean City.

The CMCHD has reported that 64 people in Ocean City have been cleared off quarantine, while three have died from COVID-19.

Here's how Ocean City's figures compare to prior weeks (resident and non-resident figures included when available):

  • Aug. 23: six active cases among residents, 10 among non-residents
  • Aug. 16: five active cases among residents, seven among non-residents
  • Aug. 9: four active cases among residents, four among non-residents
  • Aug. 2: eight active cases among residents, four among non-residents
  • July 1: four active community cases
  • June 1: 13 active community cases and two cases in longterm-care facilities
  • May 1: 10 active cases
  • April 1: one active case

Overall, officials have tallied 52 active cases among county residents, 25 among non-residents, 963 patients cleared off quarantine and 88 deaths.
