Ocean City Fishing Club To Hold Food Collection Open House
Last year, the Ocean City Fishing Club's two Food Cupboard collections netted 453 pounds of food.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — You can tour the Ocean City Fishing Club Pier while helping people in need. The Ocean City Fishing Club will host a food collection open house from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
The club invites visitors to bring non-perishable food to be donated to the Ocean City Food Cupboard. They will also accept cash donations for the Food Cupboard.
Fishing club members will guide visitors along the 635-foot pier, answer questions and demonstrate casting and fishing techniques. Last year, 1,346 visitors brought 453 pounds of food and donated $678 during the two open houses at the fishing pier, Boardwalk and 14th Street.

A similar event will take place Aug. 1.
The open house coincides with Ocean City's Family Night on the Boardwalk. The fishing club, founded in 1913, has committed to community involvement through youth fishing tournaments, hosting children with disabilities, awarding scholarships and advocating for recreational fishing.
